New Sailing iPhone App by SailingRx - Sailing Logsm
Using an iPhone based app for tracking your sailing adventure is the key goal of this new interactive tool. The iPhone app has been conceived and developed by U.S.G.C licensed Captain and delivery skipper Thaddeus B. Kubis and has been designed to be used by sailors. A power boating version is currently being developed as well.
The app titled Sailing Logsm, will include entry pages to start a new log, view past trips, links to weather and other sail related online resources.
Entry screens for destination, track your route and even adding a photo of your own boat, photos while underway and photos of your destination are just a click away.
Sailing Log allows you to record your port of embarkation, time and other “exiting” data. Record your course, make in route trip comments, indicate your position (Lat/Long), note sea state, wind speed and direction on your iPhone. List your crewmembers, emergency contact information and email your float plan to your home base.
Once you reached your destination you can save the route. Need to review a past trip, just open to the Archived Quick logs screen and all your stored trips are ready for you to review, relive and enjoy again.
The first version will be available via the iPhone app store during the Fall 2009.
